About 900 residents of Musambira sector got jobs in the 2020 Vision Umurenge Program (VUP) instead of moving around doing temporally work cultivating for money, a few months after this sector was included in VUP program in the economic year 2012/2013.
Maliziya Nyirakabano a resident of Nyarusange village says she has been cultivating for money from his neighbors earning Rwf600 francs per day but now she gets Rwf1000 with VUP Program.
She is grateful for VUP Program for helping the poor find work to do. This program also makes it easy for people to save as the money is given to them at ago and can even be used to make a project.
This is the same story with Venuste Nkurunziza a resident of Kamayanja village who also works for VUP says that sometimes they would lack work to do and go hungry, he is grateful for VUP as they are no longer affected by lack of work and hunger.
Oswald Sekamana who is in charge of VUP in Musambira sector says that they introduced this program after a very large number of people were unemployed and even poor in this sector.
VUP program is now constructing a road of about 47 kilometers, and after which they will construct a health center in Rukambura cell and also make terraces.
VUP program supports people in the 1st and 2nd phase of poverty and apart from offering jobs to people in the sector, apart from offering work and employment to the people, VUP provides beneficiary funds to about 455 people who cannot work of about Rwf7500 and they also give credits to people who can create productive projects.
