Kizito talks to the press

Local popular Rwanda musician Kizito Mihigo and his accomplices have admitted they have links with terrorist group FDLR, and working with the South Africa’s based opposition party- Rwanda National Congress (RNC) which has been involved in staging terror attacks in Rwanda.

Kizito Mihigo was today paraded by police together with Cassien Ntamuhanga, a journalist at Amazing Grace Radio, Jean-Paul Dukuzumuremyi, a demobilised soldier and another co-accused Agnes Niyibizi who is a chief accountant for RNC terror cell that planned to carry out attacks on Rwandan politicians.

Police says that the group has been involved in subversive activities; terrorist attacks against Rwanda, planning violent overthrow of the government, planning to assassinate government officials and inciting violence among the population.

Kizito Mihigo explained to the press how he got involved with RNC and collaborating with FDLR and agreed that he was in contact with the groups, for two months though he was not aware of their motives. He also used the opportunity to advice.

Police sources say that Mihigo was in charge of mobilizing the youth for RNC and FLDR, while Cassien Namuhanga was a senior coordinator and Agnes Niyibizi was in charge of finances for the terror cell that was supposed to stage attacks in the heart of Kigali.

Police displayed evidence of the grenades that were supposed to be used by the four suspects in the planned attacks. Attacks had been planned for end March right before the 20th Genocide commemoration this April. The group will be sent to the prosecution soon.
