Rwanda police gets CID school

The minister of internal security, Sheikh Musa Fazil Harerimana today March 30, 2015, opened the Rwanda National Police Criminal Investigation Department (CID) School in Musanze district.

The New CID School worth Rwf600million will offer courses in in basic investigation (4months) and professional investigation (6months)

The school will enable judicial police officers to gain better skills in criminal science and investigation as a way of giving the officers capacity to prepare better court files to the prosecution.

Though Rwanda has a forensic laboratory, the level of skills in criminal investigation has not been fully developed due lack of skills in criminal investigation procedures.

ACP Felix Namuhoranye, The Head pf National Police College say that classes will be offer to sets of investigation officers and judicial police for a period of six months.

“A six months Professional Investigation Course at new CID School aims to compliment skills of Rwanda police Senior Officers in combating modern crime”

He also said that in order to combat crime, the Basic Investigation Course offered to #RNP officers at new CID School will be more practical than theoretical.

Minister Harerimna, said that Rwanda Police always seeks to upgrade skills of officers. “The new CID School serves this purpose very well”

The minister and IGP Emmanuel Gasana also discussed strategies with over 1000 youth volunteers in crime Prevention and told the youth volunteers that they have a responsibility of protecting national achievements.
