Sheikh Hassan Bahame, mayor of Rubavu District talking to residents
The mayor of Rubavu District, Sheikh Hassan Bahame has revealed that district authorities have embarked on going to church gatherings to talk to the residents.
Sheikh Bahame says this decision was made because many people have a lot of activities during weekdays but can be found in churches.
Sheikh Bahame says he has visited Zion Temple-Gisenyi and plans to go to other churches in Rubavu district.
Christians on the other hand confess that its good governance that authorities come to church to talk about development programs that improve residents’ welfare.
Though some religious leaders say they embrace government programs, it could be more than good to share the word of God with local authorities as Pastor Felix Gakunde of Zion Temple-Gisenyi explains.
Pastor Gakunde adds that it would be a good example to the Christians and other people they lead.
