The governor of southern province, Aimé Bosenibamwe has told local authorities and residents to participate in the implementation of EDPRS (2) program to achieve its goal.
This was revealed during the meeting governor Aimé Bosenibamwe had with Vice-mayors in charge of economic affairs in all districts of Northern Province, district executive secretaries and those in charge of planning.
The aim of EDPRS phase 2 is to speed up development and residents’ social welfare.
During the meeting, the governor said that in this program, an organized system for the districts to develop using what they have should be put in place.
Governor Bosenibamwe said that agriculture alone cannot lead the province to sustainable development, saying that other development activities should be supported.
“We need town development in Northern Province to be a strong foundation for improving province development,” he denotes.
Dr. Octave Semwaga, from the ministry of finance and economic planning asserts that they are doing everything possible to achieve what they pledged (11.5 percentage development every year).
Semwaga highlights: “Basing on what we have achieved so far, we are optimistic that by 2020, Rwanda will be among the middle income countries.”
Every district was given an opportunity in the meeting to showcase its plans for EDPRS program phase 2, challenges and their solutions.
