Gisagara district administration has asked all leadership levels to allow residents express their views for the successful implementation of the performance contracts.
This was resolved during the preparation and evaluation of 2012-2013 performance contracts in Gisagara district.
“To have performance contracts implemented 100 percent, is to have residents embrace it,” asserts Leandre Karekezi; mayor of Gisagara district.
On the other hand, residents are encouraged to take part in performance contract activities by sharing their ideas instead of waiting on their leaders to decide on their behalf.
This is directed at attracting residents into embracing all government development programs that are meant for all Rwandans.
The mayor of Gisagara district affirms that performance contracts are executed 100 percent only when residents become part of the program.
He adds that when residents are given opportunity to work for themselves, they put their mind to it and produce the best.
“All we need is our performance contracts to be executed 100 percent, and it could only be achieved with the residents participation,” the Mayor explains.
Gisagara district became the eighth in 2011-2012 performance contracts and hopes to get a better position this year 2012-2013.
