Rwanda leadership great contribution has been the building of a better nation of character in terms of discipline and values. Building a nation of character and values is critical to sustainable socio-economic and political certainty.
Building a nation of character by the leadership has immensely contributed to the celebrated Rwanda’s post genocide recovery and reconstruction.
Well organized government home grown initiatives and innovative policies towards positioning personal advancement of every citizen as well as contributing towards national development and recognizing that material advancement alone cannot guarantee national development if it is not accompanied by right character and values is a heroic focus.
Rwanda’s focus of integrating values in all her business is essential for continued prosperity and integrity of its citizens.
Nurturing right values and mindset of the citizens develops their emotions and make them patriotic, self-reliant and social conscience. Discipline and right values has been the epicentre for Rwanda’s renewal, renaissance and citizen have immeasurable trust in their leadership on the basis of good character, values and the leadership has kept these values intact.
Rwanda has been able to remain steadfast in achieving her ambitions due to her firm leadership that recognize and embrace the centrality of character and values in serving their communities as leaders not just filling positions.
Character deficit have costed many countries greatly in terms of corruption, bad leadership and governance partly due to character of disconnect between the led and the leaders. The issue of character deficit fails citizens to trust their leaders, a factor for development failures in many countries.
It takes good leaders to nurture citizens and future leaders with values by walking the talk. Rwanda has become a beacon of the continent due to the character standards of her leaders and their great personal sacrifice, honest and ideological clarity.
